Sanjeewa Kumara (b. 1971) has a Masters in Fine Arts from the Dutch Art Institute in The Netherlands. Sanjeewa is a contemporary artist whose paintings are a hybrid of Eastern and Western styles. His artworks are self-declared 'pictures' as they aim to transport us into a space in different time whereas a painting dwells primarily on the material and surface. He refers to his art as an art of surprises -exploring the radical ambiguity of fantasy.
