Prakriti: Nuwan Nalaka

Saskia Fernando Gallery is pleased to present Nuwan Nalaka's upcoming exhibition Prakriti. In this series of brilliant and scintillating paintings the biological, decorative and symbolic connotations associated with flowers become a deliberation on feminine energy, sexuality and the erotic.

Nuwan Nalaka is a Sri Lankan artist whose work is informed by gender, politics, nature, spirituality and psychology. His most recent exhibition delves into the subject of the sensual and the suggestive through metaphors borrowed from Greek and South Asian imagination. The artist has completed his Masters in Fine Art at the Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India.  These cross-boundary experiences have had a profound impact on his work. Prakriti will be his third solo exhibition with Saskia Fernando Gallery.
