It is a theme that echoes in his contorted 'Long-Necked Man' - a figure that translates mental anguish into a more visible and physical form. It reflects on the intertwined relationship between vulnerability and masculinity, and its association with violence. The 1989 woodcut print of 'Long Necked Man' is a precursor to themes he explored through later works such as Man with Kitchen Knife (2009), and Shiva (1990s - 2009).
