Stylistically, it harkens back to Thenuwara’s 2022 Glitch: Camouflage which reflect on the lingering military presence in all walks of public and civil life. Additionally, the artist’s particular use of the rhetoric from the Blind series, works to emphasise the need for the viewer to remove barriers and question their sociopolitical truths.
Erasing Camouflage, with its subdued tones, presents a more optimistic contemplation. Through this piece, the artist expresses hope for a future where the role of the military is limited.
