The artwork draws inspiration from the three colors of military camouflage: yellow, green, and black. Stylistically, it harkens back to Thenuwara’s 2016 Glitch series, where the artist compared the persistence of social and political issues to the act of changing channels on a television set, emphasizing the distortions caused by voltage fluctuations. The artist incorporates the color red into the work, symbolizing repression much like how yellow was utilized in his Barrelism pieces to evoke oppression.
